Dave Scott Resigns

Dave Scott, Chairman of the Association for over 30 years has resigned. Dave started the Association after a stay in Okinawa, where he trained with Kanei Uechi, the son of Kanbun Uechi, who was the founder of the style, Uechi-Ryu.

Dave has spent a lifetime involved with Uechi-Ryu, obtaining his 6th Dan Black belt. Apart from Dave's obvious talent as a Karate expert, he has also been noted for his kindness and observation for fairplay in the running of the Associations' affairs.

Dave has recently wished to spend more time on some of his other interests and felt he was unable to give as much of his attention to Uechi-Ryu as he would have liked. In view of that, he decided to relinquish his role as Chairman.

A board meeting held on the 8th November 2008, saw proposed new Chairman Mick Pappas voted in to take over Dave's roll.

Dave has been asked by the new Chairman and board of Directors to remain on hand to provide guidence wherever needed.

Thanks Dave, for helping us to enjoy Uechi-Ryu.
